Year 6 at Hilltop
Wed 20 Sep 2023Year 6 have had a great first day at Hilltop! They have completed the big zipper, taken part in team games and worked together in crate climbing. The weather was kind to us and the children have demonstrated fantastic attitudes!

Year 3/4 Science investigation
Sun 04 Jun 2023Year 3/4 were investigating sound using paper cups and string. We were even able to hear 4 people by connecting some of the phones together!

Girl's football tournament
Thu 25 May 2023Last Friday afternoon, some Year 3/4 girls went to the Outdoor in St.Ives and took part in a football tournament. They all played really well, and their teamwork was amazing! Well done, girls!

Police visit Reception
Sun 14 May 2023On Friday, the police visited Reception to talk about what they do and what equipment they use. The children were really excited to see them and got to ask many questions. They thought it was really funny to see Mrs Chelland-Brown put into handcuffs. Luckily, they had the key to unlock them afterwards. Their police hats were also passed around for the children to try on which they loved.

Coronation celebrations
Fri 05 May 2023We have had a lovely day in school today, marking the coronation of King Charles III. Children looked fantastic in their red, white and blue outfits and enjoyed sharing these in assembly this afternoon. Unfortunately, the weather didn’t hold for us to be able to eat outside but the children loved working together in Houses to create their crowns.

Reception Library visit
Sat 25 Mar 2023Reception visited the local library over the last two weeks. Robins class went on Friday the 17th and Wren's on Friday 24th. The children had an amazing time looking at all the books and choosing a book to take out using their library card. At the end of the visit, they all sat and listened to a story being read. While walking to and back to the library, they also looked out for signs of spring. What an amazing time we all had!

The Great Fire of London KS1
Mon 06 Mar 2023KS1 enjoyed a fantastic ‘Great Fire of London’ enrichment day last week with a visit from History Off the Page. All the children were transported back in time to 1666 to experience what life was like when the Great Fire of London happened. It was an immersive day, full of hands-on learning experiences which really helped to bring the children’s history learning to life.’

Year 3/4 Viking visitors
Sat 25 Feb 2023Year 3/4 finished their history topic on the Vikings with some really exciting visitors!
We had the best time learning all about how the Vikings lived, what gods they believed in and even what musical instruments they played!
A special thank you to Mr Clarke for showing us how Vikings dressed up for battle!
